Project Made in Holland.com supports new Dutch offshore duo at 2025 Worlds

After a successful 2024 campaign with Van Vuuren/Beusker, Project Made in Holland.com proudly continues its mission: supporting Dutch mixed offshore sailing duos on their way to the world stage. This year, the baton has been passed to a new team: Christiane Walta and Ivar Elstrodt. They will represent the Netherlands at the World Championship Mixed Double Handed Offshore Sailing, taking place 21 September – 1 October 2025 in Cowes, UK.

From success to fresh energy

In 2024, the World Championship was sailed in mixed duos for the very first time, in Lorient (FR). With Van Vuuren/Beusker competing, the Netherlands immediately made its mark. The excitement, success, and fun that came with it called for a sequel. In 2025, Walta and Elstrodt are set to continue that journey – with the same drive and under the project’s motto: “Let’s do some fun stuff.”

A duo with power and fun

Walta and Elstrodt first teamed up at Team Heiner Talents, where they trained and raced together for several years. Their bond is built on trust, stamina, and the will to win. “As a duo, we can read each other without words – and that’s exactly what you need when racing non-stop for days,” says Elstrodt. Walta adds: “We want to show that mixed offshore sailing isn’t just demanding and tough, but also incredibly fun. That’s what makes us strong.”

Project Made in Holland: more than support

Project Made in Holland is an optimization and design bureau for offshore sailing.
“Offshore sailing is fun at every level – whether it’s professional racing, a transatlantic crossing, a family trip or a weekend warrior team. Supporting the Dutch teams at the Worlds is our way of showing how much energy, creativity and joy offshore racing can bring,” says Peltzer, Head of Design of Project Made in Holland.

The specialists at Project Made in Holland not only provide practical support but also help make the sailors’ stories visible. Towards Cowes, together

The World Championship in Cowes will be the next big challenge for the new team. Training sessions from Scheveningen, boat preparation and the race itself require support and involvement from the sailing community and beyond. “Offshore racing is teamwork – also with everyone who follows, supports and cheers us on,” says Walta.
